Utah Military Academy is a Public Charter High School Military Academy with two campuses near Salt Lake City Utah. Both campuses are associated with a formal JROTC program, Hill Field (Ogden) being Air Force, and Camp Williams (Lehi) being Army. Both campuses work closely with the Civil Air Patrol and the Naval Sea Cadets.
In addition to the military component UMA works very closely with external partners to provide other leadership opportunities. This includes a strong participation with Boys and Girls States, which is hosted by the American Legion. Every year UMA places over a dozen cadets into this program. The Utah National Guard also provides a week long seminar called Freedom Academy, which is for the Senior Class President of every high school in Utah. Each year UMA places five or six cadets exclusive program. UMA is also the only high school in Utah to have a State Legislative Internship program, where top tenth and eleventh grade cadets are matched with a Utah Legislator for the duration of the State Legislative Session, which lasts six weeks. UMA cadets are the only high school interns in the State of Utah, all others being juniors and seniors at local universities.
