Position: Leadership Advisor (TAC Officer)
Reports to: Commandant, Hargrave Military Academy
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, coordinate, control, direct and supervise the cadet residential life program as assigned to a specific unit or company.
- Mentor and assess student leaders as they fulfill their leadership responsibilities to ensure good order and discipline is maintained.
- Ensure a safe, healthy and clean disciplined environment exists in the barracks and cadet common spaces ensuring adequate supplies and resources are available.
- Recommend awards, rewards and promotions to the Commandant for superior cadet performance and/or conduct.
- Provide counseling and mentorship to all cadets.
- Train all cadets on Cadet Planner standards and hold cadets accountable.
- Ensure 100% accountability at all scheduled events and formations ensuring any unauthorized absences have corrective action applied.
- Act as the Academy’s point of contact for parental inquiries into residential life issues for assigned cadets.
- Performs the role of “Duty TAC” when assigned ensuring the safe, clean, orderly operation of the Academy during non working hours.
- As the “Duty TAC,” coordinates the execution of tours “Bullring” for cadets.
- Review, assess and report cadet misconduct incidents and recommend corrective and/or disciplinary action to the Commandant.
- Conduct frequent inspections of assigned rooms, bathrooms, storage rooms, stairwells of assigned barracks to ensure a safe, clean, orderly environment.
- Teach a variety of residential life topics including drill, ceremony, life skills and military skills.
- Provide advisory and instruction support to cadets for Academy parades, drill competition, Cadet NCO Schools, Cadet Officer Candidate Schools.
- Recommend serious cases of troubled cadets to the appropriate level of care such as the Infirmary, Guidance, or to the Commandant.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the Commandant
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
- Support the school and its leadership.
