Fishburne Military School seeks an experienced educator to become its Academic Dean preferably 01 June 2020. The ideal candidate will possess a robust academic vision and a demonstrated positive and effective involvement in supervision and evaluation of instruction and program development.
The Academic Dean is responsible for the overall academic program to include development and implementation of annual academic budget, leadership management and supervision of faculty, supervision and management of the academic program and coordination with the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), now AdvancED.
The position requires:
Master’s Degree in education; a PHD is preferred
Eighteen semester credit hours of graduate work in educational administration
Ten years teaching experience
Two years experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in educational administration
Be able to teach multiple classes in addition to administrative responsibilities

Fishburne Military School is a private, nonprofit 501-(c)3, college-preparatory, military school for boys serving approximately 160 students grades seven through twelve. The school was established in 1879 and is the oldest secondary military school in the United States with a successful JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction.
